Expanding Your Reach

Here at Sanctified Sound, we work with many recording artists that are just starting their careers. One of the important aspects of their career is often looked at as being unachievable…

The Aspect of The Tour

I firmly believe that God has placed us in the specific place that He wanted us to evangelize. Not everyone is called to evangelize the world through foreign missions, but we are ALL called to evangelize. We evangelize where God tells us to go, but do we really need permission to evangelize where we live? Our immediate surroundings?

As a recording artist, we have a built-in doorway to almost anywhere we want to minister.

Our Music

But, how do we get our music out to people outside of our friends and family, or in a wider area than our community? We Tour!

I know, I know it’s a concept that has you feeling a lot of weight… you feel like you would need a manager, a crew, a band, etc. Well, it’s a lot easier than you think. All you need are your friends… not Cousin Ray-Ray, LaQuanisha, or Larry around the corner, but your recording artist friends.

As a recording artist, you should have many friends that are doing the exact same thing as you, that may be asking the same question… “How can I widen my reach?” The answer is… Pool Your Resources!!

Mark 6:6 - 7 “…Then Jesus went around teaching from a village. Calling the twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.”

Mark 6:12 – 13 “They went out and preached that people should repent. They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.”

About 8 years ago, one of my lifelong friends/artists came to me saying that he wrote a stage play called “Decisions”. He had the idea of the cast all being recording artists that would act, sing, and rap before and during the play. He had many connections with pastors and people that could hold the play, or people who had access to places where the play could be held.

Problem was, he didn’t have access to many artists that could be a part or even wanted to be a part of this unorthodox project.

Luckily, he knew someone who knew many artists… Me!

He had the Play and Connections, I had the Artists and Music… thus the “Decisions Tour” was born. Even better, the artists that we brought on, had connections of their own, and we were all able to successfully tour the Stage Play/Concert in many areas in and out of the state for over a year with just the resources of 7 recording artists.

We saw many people saved, healed, and delivered! Also, all of our careers skyrocketed to a place that we could never have reach on our own. It all started with 2 recording artists that got together unselfishly and pooled together their resources to fulfill a dream and a purpose that was bigger than them.

No man is an island

It is well known in the industry that artists must collaborate to reach a new audience… if the industry is that unselfish, then why is it so hard for Christian Recording Artists to collaborate to build the Kingdom of God?

Some Critical Questions to Ask Yourself This Week:

1. Do you have recording artist friends that are doing the same thing and asking the same questions that you are about more exposure?

2. What is keeping you from reaching out to them?

3. What resources do you have? What resources do you need?

4. What artist friends have those resources that you could reach out to?
